Just a store-experience!!!

According to my experience South Africa is one of the few countries where race and heritage is being discussed on a daily basis. During the past week I made a couple of weird and shocking experiences. I went to a store to buy a fridge and sadly had to deal with a very impolite emploee. I decided not to buy it and come back the next day. I did and I complained about being treated like an idiot. The managers reaction was quite shocking, because he asked which race the emploee was.  Obviously I looked stunned and shocked, because the manager started to list black, white or colored. I didn`t know what this had to do with any of my complaints. It didn`t seem that it was racism, but more an implication of the past.

South Africa is not just the country where different cultures and religions live next to each other, but also the country where everyone accepts each other more or less. You will find Muslims, Christians, Jews and other religions living next to each other. Working together in one office, seating in one class, shopping at the same store. Religions differences are not the issue. But cultural differences are and the obvious skin-colour.
